2006 LTI TXII Silver
British icon here in
'Silver' spec; fresh MOT until October 2022; ideal for slipping in and out of
the city
Supplied new by Mann & Overton
of Islington, London to its first owner a Mr Hull of Maida Vale in March 2006
this, TXII generation of the famous ‘London Taxi’ by LTI is finished in black
and comes to us in ‘Silver’ spec.
It has had just 2-owners, the first
from 2006 until 2017 and the current since then and showed an uncommonly low
mileage for a Taxi at its 2020 MOT of 143,409 mils covering c.12,000 per year
for the last few years. The mileage at the most recent MOT in October this year
was unreadable, the display not playing ball so we estimate it to have covered
c.150,000 miles.
Under the bonnet, we find Ford’s 2.4 litre Duratorq
diesel engine mated to 4-speed Jatco automatic transmission and the Taxi has the
famously tight turning circle. It appears in good order considering its age/use
and mileage and ran as expected when we moved it around for these shots. We did
note the OSR passenger window did not operate however but the wheel chair access
ramp is in the boot as pictured.
The history file includes the V5C and
owners manual with 12 service stamps, the last in February 2017 at 82,168 miles
by Putney Bridge Taxis, 1 old MOT and VOSA MOT history print out. The current
MOT is valid until October 2022 with just 2 minor advisories recorded (check
online at check-mot.service.gov.uk and enter the reg).
Ideal for slipping
in and out of towns or cities anonamously - given their seating capacity for 5or
so passengers, it would also make an ideal vehicle for the school
run.
