2001  Maserati 3200GTA

Only 58,000 miles; 370bhp twin turbo V8; one of only 4,795 made; pampered 'facelift' example of this appreciating model

Supplied new by HR Owen of London in April 2001, this beautifully presented Maserati has covered just 57,000 miles with an excellent service history comprising six stamps in a photocopy of the original service book (the first five at the supplying dealer, including PDI) and a further two stamps in the replacement service book. The cambelt was renewed in June 2015 when it was also treated to a throttle body upgrade (a well-known improvement to the model) and more recently the knock sensors were replaced in September 2020 by Shiltech Performance Cars and the remote central locking was re-synced by Abacus car alarms.

It looks wonderful in rare Sebring Blue metallic with optional chrome front grille and a tan leather interior with heated front seats. It sounds great too thanks to quad stainless steel Powerflow exhausts.

It also has the favoured four-speed automatic transmission, most reviewers being agreed that this suits the nature of the car better, the manual versions delivering the power of the twin-turbo V8 in too alarmingly ‘hair trigger’ fashion and also being prone to premature clutch wear and ensuing crankshaft endfloat which has led to the early demise of more than a few three-pedal versions.

Being a late model, it also benefits from the 2001 model year upgrades to the steering which made the car less nervous to drive, and to the engine management system which reduced lag and gave more fluid power delivery. Put it in sport mode and it will still make your passengers squeal when you hit the loud pedal...

With few owners to date, it is being reluctantly offered for sale after not having as much use as the owner was hoping for, only having covered about 6000 miles in the last seven years. MOT’d to October 2021, it also has nine old MOTs back to 2007 at 45,028 miles, sundry invoices plus the original owner's handbook and Becker Mexico Pro operating manual in the original blue leather wallet.
