Description
1966 Sunbeam Alpine Series V
An older restoration recently out of storage,
this four-speed manual with overdrive car shows just 73,428
miles
HAU353D was first
registered in May 1966 and started life in Nottingham as shown on the original
buff log book .
Retaining the Series IV rear styling with the fins
largely removed, the final Alpine version had a new five-bearing 1,725cc engine
with twin
Zenith-Stromberg semi-downdraught carburettors producing 93
bhp.
This car was rebuilt some 10 years ago, which included a
colour change from the original British Racing Green to the current red.
The chrome work was also redone at this time.
Its most recent MOT
was issued in 2017 at 73,351 miles, but from 2012 to date, HAU353D has only done
148 miles which explains why the car is offered in the sale today.
The
Alpine comes with a workshop manual, some old MOTs and various bills and
invoices.
It looks in sound and solid condition with a nice clean engine
bay. Bidders are advised that the ignition switch is causing
trouble, although it was driven onto the transporter prior to
delivery.
