1999 Volvo V70R

Originally a JDM car, this smart and rare 1999 Phase 3 Volvo V70R was imported to the UK in May 2017, sourced specifically by a previous owner (a former Brightwells man!) who couldn’t find a black one in the UK – no surprise, there were only 74 officially imported by Volvo and only 3 of these were Black Stone like this car – hence the difficulty and option to ‘go Japanese’!

Our vendor, another local marque enthusiast has enjoyed the car for the past few years, it now showing 131,374Km (81,362 miles) which it looks to have worn well, the charcoal Alcantara and leather interior looking almost unmarked with diamond stitching pattern, electric adjustment, 2-stage heating, dark wood trim and powerful sound system.

Powered here of course, by the legendary B5244RT 2,435cc inline 5-cylinder engine featuring variable valve timing and drive by wire throttle input with 19T turbocharger producing 265bhp driven through 5-speed adaptive automatic transmission and boasting twin exhaust pipes it gave the car class-leading performance with a 0-60mph time of only 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 152mph – its no wonder the Police used them as unmarked high speed pursuit vehicles!

Within the history file, we find the V5C showing just two former keepers, handbooks, Japanese condition report, a selection of maintenance invoices from the past few years, the last documented service was in April 2018 at 112,454 KM at a cost of £567 and current MOT valid until March 2022 with no advisories.
