1981 MGB GT

Late model 4-owner GT in super order showing just 62,941 miles with supporting history; leather interior, walnut dash - emintently usable and very nice

Dating from February 1981 this super looking late registration rubber bumper GT is finished in metallic grey with contrasting black leather interior with dashing walnut trim dash and attractive 14inch Minilite style alloy wheels yet was, originally supplied in Tundra brown with gold sill decals, contrasting orange deckchair interior, black carpeting, black crackle finish dash and black Webasto sunroof sat with Rostyle wheels.

The car was subject to a degree of restoration some of which was recorded in a selection of photographs on file, along with a printed potted history of the car and its mileage, which looks to be genuine at 62,941 miles. This document reveals the colour change to titanium grey through 1996/1997 when it was off the road for 2 years, the mileage in 1995 being 49,640, rising steadily to what we see now with two other refurbishments noted in 2007 and again in 2010/11.

The V5C and printed information in the file confirm the car has had just three previous owners from new, the current, our vendor, the 4^th owner has enjoyed the car along side his other ‘daily drive B’ for the past couple of years. In addition, the file history includes 18 old MOTs plus current valid until March 2022 with 4 minor advisories noted and is now 40 years old so no further MOT will be needed (nor irksome Road tax – score!)

Fitted with some choice upgrades to make modern motoring easier, these include electronic ignition, an alloy rocker cover, mud flaps, rear window wash and wipe, hydraulic tailgate struts, rear fog light and Webasto sun-roof wind deflector. In addition, the car has been fitted with an Ivor Searle cylinder head fitted in 2015 plus new stainless exhaust system, shocks and brake callipers were fitted at considerable expense through 2017 in addition to a host of other bills dating back to c.2015 for other parts and works carried out.

A tidy and well sorted late model GT with some super upgrades and features in lovely order ready to be enjoyed.
