2007 PY07BWW Lexus SC430
Smart, 3-owner 282bhp
V8 convertible with folding metal roof showing just 76,000
miles
Supplied new in April 2007 by Lexus of
Carlisle to the first of just 3 owners, this striking car is finished in popular
Kalahari Sand (gold to you and I) with matching ivory leather interior and wood
trim.
Under the hood, we find Lexus’s excellent 32-valve quad cam 4.3
3UZ-FE V8 engine (which was that revered it saw service for 24 years in various
guises and Lexus models) and develops 288bhp here and a whopping 430NM of torque
mated to automatic transmission with tiptronic and Sports mode, enough to propel
the SC430 to 60mph in 6.2 seconds – more than fast enough for most
owners.
Inside, we find the usual high spec of a Lexus, including swathes
of soft leather, electric heated memory seats, flip round in-car entertainment
and premium sound system with cassette and CD, cruise control, touch-screen sat
nav, automatic lights, trip computer, digital climate control with A/C, traction
control, a pair of ridiculous ‘rear seats’ ideal for luggage or a jacket in
reality and an excellent insulated folding metal hard top with heated glass rear
screen giving year-round usability.
Showing just 76,011 miles the car has
evidently been well looked after and has worn its 14 years and mileage very well
with but a few marks commensurate with its age/mileage. Within the history file,
we find the V5C, service booklet revealing 8 stamps, the last at 67,119 miles in
March 2018, and the previous in March 2017 at 61,708 miles including a timing
belt change along with recent visual safety report from a Lexus dealer in
February 2020 (all ok). In addition to the last stamped service, an invoice on
file confirms the car to have had a more recent service in May 2020 at 73,339
miles by MJ Watts Motor Engineers of Louth at a cost of £363 which included an
MOT.
Another bill on file indicates the car has been fitted with a
stainless cat back exhaust system at a cost of £550 in January 2020 along with
fitment of a replacement front brake calliper and new pads in August 2020.
Further invoices on file document other routine service and maintenance work
dating back several years including the aforementioned stamped timing belt
change in 2017 along with at least 5 old MOTs plus current valid until May 2022
with 2 minor advisories.
Ready to be enjoyed, as it has just been on a UK
Honeymoon break by our vendor around the North Coast of Scotland. The looks of
the SC430 have always divided opinion, but there’s no denying Lexus make
excellent cars built to last, with powerful engines and supremely comfortable
interiors.
