1992 Peugeot 405 SRi

Rare to find 1.9 SRi variant in stonking order throughout showing just 61,349 miles with 22 service stamps - Investment Alert!

Supplied new by Renwicks Garages of Exeter in November 1992 this 405 is the Sporting SRi variant, featuring Peugeot's 1.9 litre engine here in 8-valve format developing 125bhp and 170NM of torque driving the front wheels via 5-speed manual transmission which sat it just below the now coveted Mi16 version in the 405 range.

This fantastic example has been with our enthusiast vendor the past 3 years and has been enjoyed sparingly, indeed the car was used prior to delivery to us for one last classic car club outing and was a blast.  Finished in blue with red external trim to help identify it from the more humble versions the car has a discreet sense of sporting purpose. Inside, we find two tone grey and red pinstripe interior boasting a super sense of simplicity and great visiblity often lacking from modern cars with their fussy, gadget laden interiors. Here we find electric sunroof, electric front windows, ABS, power steering, central locking and electric aerial although the vendor advises the sunroof seems to have stuck through lack of use.

Showing just 61,349 miles in the hands of our vendor and 4 previous owners the car looks superb with very few marks or signs of age and has evidently been loved over its 29 years.  Within the history file, we find the V5C, owner's pack with manuals and service booklet showing 7 stamps all by the supplying dealer with an additional Peugeot service book showing a further 12 stamps with 10 also by the supplying dealer Renwicks (the last by them in 2009 at 55,739 miles), the last two stamps then by Station Garage of Exeter with an additional 3 more stamps by Station Garage of Exeter in a 3rd booklet, the most recent in July 2014 at 59,453 miles.

We also find a purchse receipt dated July 2017, 4 old MOT certificates showing little more than 2,000 miles covered in the last 6 or so years and the current MOT valid until April 2022 with no advisories recorded. The vendor also states that the car was treated to a recent new battery and was driven 170 miles to the sale from Devon with no problems whatsoever.

It makes a super change to see something a little different such as this 405, especially in such fine, original order.
