Description
1999 Range Rover 4.0 (P38)
AMENDMENT;
Later model 4.0 V8 with automatic 'box showing 86,921 miles; full
grey leather interior with stamped service booklet
Supplied
new by Caffyns Plc of Lewes in September 1999 to its Engineering company first
owner this P38 comes in 4.0 automatic guise finished in Blue with original
5-spoke alloy wheels inside we find contrasting grey leather interior.
The spec looks to include half electric seats in light grey leather,
piped dark grey, walnut trim, automatic digital climate control, sunroof,
electric windows, on-board trip computer, automatic transmission via the
traditional H-gate, full time four-wheel drive and air suspension which appears
to function as it should.
Within the history file, we find the V5C
showing 7 former keepers to our current of 6 years, the owner's pack and
service book showing 7 stamps, the first 4 by supplying dealer Caffyns, the
latter by independant 4x4 and Land Rover specialists, the last in November 2015
at 80,086 miles. Currently reading 86,921 miles, this 4.0 example
looks to have covered little mileage in recent years, confirmed by a look at the
car's MOT history. The current MOT is valid until July 2021 with 7 minor
advisories. We also find 5 old MOTs on file plus a selection of invoices
including a new head gasket, head skim, gearbox oil service, coil pack
replacement, air mass sensor, ABS sensor and new radiator in January
2020 at a cost of £1,293.59 by RMB Autos, along with fitment of 4 new
Uniroyal tyres in November 2018 at a cost of £460, new starter motor in April
2018 costing £144, plus full service at the same time costing a further £222 at
83,451 miles and new thermostat too a few miles prior costing another £145.
Further invoices on file show regular works dating back to our vendors
purchase in 2015. The vehicle looks to be in good usable order, ideal if
you need something big and beefy to tow with given the torque on offer from the
4.0 Rover V8. There are a few marks commensurate with its age and mileage
and some of the common sag to the head-lining which has been temporarily pinned
up to prevent it rubbing your bonce but generally it appears to be a nice old
truck.
AMENDMENT; Bidders please note, there is a weep
of fluid adjacent to the off-side rear wheel - likely suspect is brake
fluid. **Update** the leak is indeed brake fluid from the rear
off-side wheel area, brake pedal pressure is reduced, we would not reccomend
driving this lot home and suggest recovery given the nature of the
leak**
