1995 Ferrari F355 GTS
Beautiful 355 GTS Targa
in Rosso with Crema from 7 year ownership; 6-speed manual example showing just
27,800 miles
Supplied new by Maranello Sales Ltd of Egham,
Surrey in June 1995, this Targa top version comes from the first year of
the GTS variant and as such features the earlier Bosch Motronic 2.7 engine
control system giving an arguably more visceral drive.
Looking phenomenal in classic Rosso Red with Crema hide
the car is in factory standard specification and boasts the purists choice, the
fantastic open gated six speed manual ‘box which really lets you hang on to the
gears as the glorious 5-valve per cylinder 375bhp 3.5 litre V8 wails all the way
to the 8,250rpm redline.
The spec of this car features embossed headrests with the
prancing horse in red, matching red carpets and stitching to the Crema leather
and factory optional immobiliser. The removable Targa panel is also body colour
and stows neatly behind the seats when removed and is very simple to pop in and
out.
Our vendor has owned this super car for the last seven
years, although has covered little mileage. When purchased in 2013 the car had
covered just 25,231 miles and shows just 27,795 miles at the point of catalogue
– very little indeed. A glance at the last MOT shows just under 800 miles
covered since MOT in May 2017.
The history file includes the leather owner’s wallet with
manuals, service book and a file of invoices for both routine service work and
other additional maintenance dating back to 1997 along with nine old MOTs
plus current ticket running until September 2021 with just two advisories
for cracked tyres.
The service book reveals the car has predominantly
been maintained by Evans Halshaw Ferrari and Stratstone of Wilmslow with 8
stamps, the last stamped service was by Graypaul Ferrari of Birmingham on 30th
May 2013 at 24,045 miles. Invoices on file show notable spend on a
timing belt service in 2002 at 23,816 miles at a cost of £3090, warranty work
including new cam cover gaskets in 2003 at 23,854 miles along with earlier works
such as a replacement clutch release bearing in July 2001 at 19,224 miles,
replacement NS exhaust manifold, replacement bank 1-4 catalyst control unit,
fitment of a Tracker in 2000 at a cost of £2,852 at 18,663 miles plus
replacement fuel pump and oil pump chain tensioner in May 1999 at 16,708 miles.
The car presents beautifully and has retained its stock
exhaust system sounding just as it should. Its begging to be used and would no
doubt benefit from a timing belt service in respect of time, rather than mileage
and use. Go on, you only live once and certainly better than money in the
bank…
