Lot Ended
Description
Imported from the USA some time ago and dry stored since; last on
the road in 2002; great opportunity
From
the same large collection as the following lot, this Triumph is still showing in
its original left hand drive format with overdrive – built for the US
market.
Originally
registered in 1959, there are notes on file from the third owner of the car who
states that he first purchased it in 1972 while attending college in
Texas.
The
same owner kept it for many years until it was sold to and imported by our
vendor in 2003. The notes also refer to an engine rebuild in 1974, although that
was of course quite some time ago!
Coming
out of long term ownership in the States, this car obviously now needs a
comprehensive restoration, but once the barn dust has been blown off, we think
the new owner might be pleasantly surprised.
No
work has been done to the car during our vendor's 21-year ownership, therefore a
thorough viewing is recommended before bidding to ascertain what may be required
to get it back on the road. Included within the lot is a spare used boot lid,
tonneau cover, axle differential, rear windscreen and brake parts
etc.
According
to the notes on file, it appears to have last been driven in approximately 2002,
when it was exhibited at the Minnesota Vintage Triumph Roadster
Convention.
Also
included is the original stamped Customs and Excise 386 document to show that
any import duties have been paid and which should help with registering it via
the usual DVLA channels.
