Description
Rare to find G-Limited spec REV-3 example of the SW20 MkII MR2
from long term 8 year ownership; recent new sills and cosmetic overhaul -
looking very appealing indeed
Dating from November 1994, this ever so cool Toyota MR2 is a
2nd Generation W20 model, and was originally supplied new in Japan,
imported and registered in the UK in May 2008 and is a desirable G-Limited
model.
Finished in White, the car looks very
smart and sleek sat on its original 15” five-spoke alloy wheels, refinished (and
refurbished) in Rota Bronze (to match the vendor’s white Nissan Skyline R33
which wears Rota Grid wheels in matt bronze).
Under the vented rear deck we find the naturally aspirated 2.0
litre 3S-GE four-cylinder engine which develops 173bhp as a “REV-3” (Revision 3
meaning 3rd facelift for MY1994 -1995 cars) driving the rear wheels
via five-speed manual transmission giving rather exciting
performance.
As a Rev-3 G-Limited model, the
car also features electric folding mirrors, round ‘Kouki’ tail lights, colour
coded front lip and side skirts as well as power steering, air conditioning and
rear spoiler.
Inside, we find comfortable,
supportive grey cloth interior, electric windows and original radio/CD player
unit. Within the boot we find some
spare parts and other bits.
The car shows
139,115 which appears to be a mix of KM and miles, the first MOT post
registration shows 85,761 miles which we take to have been the KM figure at
import prior to conversion to Mph.
The history
file includes the V5C which reveals just two former UK keepers (since import) to
the current of eight years, an old V5C showing the first and second owners,
seven old MOTs, META immobiliser installation certificate and selection of bills
dating back to 2008 including service work, fitment of Powerflex bushes in 2009
and most recently, purchase of new sills, brake pads and windscreen seal
followed by fitment and full respray at a cost of £2,200 in December 2022 – no
wonder given the car looks so clean and sharp. A look at the timing belt cover
suggests the timing belt was changed in May 2015 at 131,203 miles, just 8,000
miles ago.
The current MOT is valid until
November 2023 and recorded no advisories.
Ready to be enjoyed this is an attractive, low owner, lower mileage
example in an excellent colour combination with the higher horsepower naturally
aspirated engine – Lots to like, and prices have really started to move with
these MkIIs – Investment Alert!
